Frequently Asked Questions about CCCS

In addition to the Frequently Asked Questions that are answered below, the Clear Creek Christian School Student Handbook is available online. It can answer many of your questions about CCCS.
1. Do you give the ISTEP test?
We are not required to give the ISTEP tests since we are not accredited with the state of Indiana. We do give the Stanford Achievement Test each year which provides us details about each student’s capabilities and annual progress. We find the Stanford test to be very informative and helpful to evaluate individual students. Our test score averages are historically very high on the Stanford tests, and we are confident that if our students did take the ISTEP they would do well on it as well.
2. Are you accredited?
Yes, we are accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International. This is a highly reputable organization in the Christian school arena. Since we only serve students through the sixth grade and not high school where credits count toward graduation, we do not see a need to become accredited through the state of Indiana.
3. What is your student/teacher ratio?
We have a target number of 16 students per teacher.
4. Where do most of your students go to school after the 6th grade?
Most of our students transition into the public schools and have done very well.
5. How many fundraisers do you have?
We have three major fundraisers per year – a dessert auction, a read-a-thon, and a golf event. Families are encouraged to participate to help keep tuition rates affordable.
6. How much Bible and spiritual formation will students receive?
Daily, students have a Bible lesson and prayer time. Students also memorize weekly Bible verses and participate in a weekly chapel service. Each classroom also has a mission project each semester.
7. Is volunteering in the school expected??
Becoming a volunteer in the school is very much appreciated and there are many opportunities to volunteer. Volunteer hours though are NOT required.
